How to Do A 3-Points-Turn: How to Complete a Perfect 3-Point Turn

It can be very annoying when you are not finding a turning point while driving. You are unable to change the direction when you need it. This mostly happens when the space is not enough. But you can always use a three-point turn even when the space is small, but you can turn your car perfectly. Let’s find out more about this in this article.

What is a three-point turn?

This is a turn that you have to decide when the road is narrow and you need a U-turn. Additionally, this is also needed when you are giving driver’s tests in different provinces. Your examiner will ask you to make a three-point turn in a tight space. For this, you must know how to do this, and your license will depend on the test completion. The three-point turn allows you to turn your vehicle in a tight space by moving the wheel and maneuvering the car three times.

A step by step guide on the three-point turn

3-Point TurnWhile making the 3 Points Turn, you need to check the traffic continuously. You need to follow some simple steps mentioned below.

Step one: Pull over the vehicle at the right side of the road and check till the traffic is clear

Before you begin to drive, you have to give a signal and pull over your car at the right section of the road. Stay there until the traffic is not there anymore and you have enough space on both sides to make the three-point turn. It’s also important that you have to start from the right side of the road and use the path as much as you can while maneuvering the car.

Step 2: Turn the steering wheel to your left and then maneuver the car on the left side of the road.

After the traffic is clear, you need to signal for the left side and turn the wheel in the same direction. When you turn the steering wheel all the way, it will allow you to get the maximum turn in the direction you want to go. After this, you have to turn the left side of the road, towards the curb and opposite direction of the path.

Step 3: maneuver the wheel to the right side and then reverse

The next step is here to maneuver the steering wheel to the right section. After you have accomplished that, you need to turn the steering wheel to the right and reverse towards the curb.

Step 4: Turn the wheel to the left side then, get in a straight position and move towards the correct road.

After you have reversed the car into the curb section, you will end up on the wrong side of the road. To return to the right side of the lane, you just need to move the steering wheel once to the left side and your car will come to a straight position. Now you can move the car to the right lane.

Traditional turns are easier than the 3 Points Turn, and for this, you will require more space in the two directions so that you can make a safe turn. When you are on a busy road then, it will be best to go for a U-turn, instead of waiting for the space of three-point maneuver.
