Renew Your Driver's License

  • In most cases of renewing a driver’s license, you will be mailed with a renewal application form. Once you have received it, you can fill it out however you want and take it into the province, to the ServiceOntario Center. The center is camera-ready, and you will be asked to sign a form as well as provide identification. Then, you will be charged a fee and your photograph will be taken in this case.
  •
  • But, what if you did not receive any renewal application form in the mail? Be informed that when it comes to renewing your license, you should first contact the Ministry of Transportation. Keep in mind also that it is your responsibility to ensure that your driver’s license is up to date and valid. Fortunately, you can renew an expired motorcycle or car driver’s license within one year even without taking any tests or exams.
  •
  • However, if your license has been canceled, suspended, or expired for more than three years, it is necessary to reapply for a new license in Ontario. In this case, you must meet all graduated licensing requirements which include passing all the required tests.
